Watch Gengetone Pioneer Exray's Brand New Video For "Makofi Kwangu"

2022 has been a year full of eccentric releases from Exray as a solo artist and as a group member of Boondocks Gang and Makofi Kwangu is among his collection of great hits. Exray has a tendency of working overtime to ensure splendid music is continuously rolled out to their fanbase thrilling his gengetone fans always.
Exray Taniua tagged Odi wa Murang'a and Omoliloh in his new track, Makofi Kwangu, an almost boastful song about their day to day experiences. They sing about relatable issues like; being in a relationship with someone else's someone and not knowing how they got into that situation, a girl asking them for cash for fare and they have no money but the girl still turns up, praising their woman's features and going further to compare them to Femi.
The song showcases their amazing talent as artists in the music industry. It is also a fair representation of the gengetone genre inclinating towards a wide appealing pop. Byron On The Beat produces the dancefloor ready beat for “Makofi Kwangu”, mixing cloudy keys and stompy mid-tempo percussions to highlight the lightweight concerns of the trio's lyrics. The complementary music video Vikta Daniel puts together, features shots of Exray, Odi and Omollo among friends seemingly narrating their verses to them. Other instances finds Odi goofing around and vibing with a vixen on his verse. There's also the presence of a dancer and Omollo singing in the house.
The lads sing;
Omollo opens the song with;
Aliitisha fare nikasema sina, akajileta
Makofi kwangu, makofi tena
Ameitisha pizza na nikona unga na viazi
Makofi kwangu, makofi tena...
Exray comes in with his funny instances of his so called "girlfriend"
He sings;
Alikuja kwangu ati ameachwa na mume wake,
Makofi kwangu, makofi tena
Walituma pesa ati wrong number na nikona fuliza
Makofi kwangu, makofi tena,
Wakwake bado ni wa kwangu (ogopa) wakwake anaishi kwangu
Tulijuana uko kwangu alafu later akaishi kwangu...
Odi Wa Murang'a comes in second after the chorus with;
Mbona umedouble pack nyuma ya nyuma ya moheni, na ni ka mko related na Femi
Heri nikope, heri nibaki na deni, lakini leo itavunjikia ndani
We ndo clear password kwa portal, nikushikie SUV, uepuke ma pothole...

Whether you pledge your allegiance to Mdundo, Boomplay, Spotify or Apple Music, here is a great song you shouldn't miss on your playlist. Check out Makofi Kwangu and don't forget to show love to the trio. Cheers!
